Skybound Chess

User Agreement

Last updated August 2026

This User Agreement covers your use of Skybound Chess (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for anything that happens through your account. Provide accurate signup information, and let us know at support@skyboundchess.com if you think your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

  • Play fairly — see our Cheating & Fair Play rules.
  • Don't harass, abuse, or impersonate other players.
  • Don't try to disrupt the Service — no scraping, automated account creation, or attempts to interfere with matchmaking or game integrity.
  • One account per person; don't create alternate accounts to dodge a ban or a rating.

Ratings and game records

Rated games and their results become part of the permanent record used to calculate ratings. We may review any game for fair play violations and, where a violation is confirmed, adjust ratings, void results, or suspend accounts as described in our fair play policy.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates this agreement or our fair play rules. You can stop using the Service at any time; email us if you'd like your account removed.

The Service is provided "as is"

Skybound Chess is provided without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep things running correctly, but we don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

Changes to these terms

We may update this agreement as the Service changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do; continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the update.
